SDC Summit on Poverty
The Social Development Foundation supported the joint efforts of the Social Development Commission (SDC) and our State Community Action Program Association’s (WISCAP) to bring you the 2018 Poverty Matters Summit “Statewide Edition”.
We express our sincere gratitude to our presenting sponsor Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, as well as our other sponsors for making this event possible.
Over the course of the conference, participants explored the shared experience of poverty and the interconnected economic, social and political lives of rural and urban Wisconsinites. Our outstanding speakers and workshop presenters enlightened attendees about rural and urban poverty as they shared stories and talked about solutions. The sessions were powerful and educational. Participants were challenged to examine the national, regional and local systems at play and consider how their narratives shape policy and our collective response.
Moving forward, we must continue to share our stories and cultivate our solutions. By working together, both rural and urban, we have the power to make a difference.
Again, we are grateful for your support and for serving as ambassadors in the fight against poverty.
We look forward to seeing you in 2019!
Thank you to all of our 2018 Summit Sponsors!
